Skutaj is a solo project that seeks to reimagine early music and folk music, typically drawing from medieval and renaissance dance music sources. Skutaj was formed with the idea of creating an atmosphere that draws the listener into another realm using mostly acoustic and period instruments. My early influences come from punk, gothic industrial, electronic, and experimental music, but later I fell in love with early music and began studying the recorder, shawm, baritone ukulele, and drum, which are all used in my music. My visual art attempts to draw the viewer into an abstracted other-dimensional world.
